Welcome to St John's
A very warm welcome to our school and website. We hope you find it interesting and informative and that it gives you an insight into life at St John’s. Do take a look at our virtual tour so that you can explore the school in more detail, we welcome visits to come and see us in action too.
At St John's we believe in a child-centred education, where children can access an exciting and varied curriculum. Through this approach our children learn to become increasingly independent and resilient, showing a genuine love of learning. Our values underpin all we do, with each child in our care treasured and loved as an individual, so they can let their light shine, which is our vision for this school.
We have a love of the great outdoors and the children enjoy forest school sessions every week. They also have access to their very own ‘trim trail’. We enjoy PE lessons in our sports field and at school we have climbing apparatus, some gorgeous playground equipment and great classroom resources.
Our team here is amazing and I am delighted to be a part of it. Please have a look through our website to find out more about us, our school, our staff and our currciulum. If you'd like to read the full Ofsted and SIAMS reports you can click on the links below.
If you have any questions, please get in touch - we are happy to help.

Parent responses following our report...
"Over three years ago, we chose your school because of the magic you create and the love and kindness that fills its walls. We haven't looked back and couldn't ask for more for our children."
"We are very proud of the wonderful culture you have created at St John’s and it’s great to see it officially recognised here."
"We are very lucky to have such great leaders, teachers and children for our own little ones to learn from and with."
SIAMS report 2023
In a similar way to Ofsted, all Church of England schools are inspected, with the criteria for inspection rigorous and challenging. In accordance with the Section 48 Inspection (under the 2005 Education Act), St John’s School achieved the highest possible overall grade of ‘Excellent’. These are just some of the statements contained in the SIAMS report that we are proud of:
"The Christian vision is the heartbeat of this excellent Church school. As a result, pupils and adults flourish exceptionally well."
"Parents share their admiration for how the school ensures pupils develop tolerance and dignity from a very young age."
