We have a team of highly skilled, experienced teachers and teaching assistants at St John's. They are passionate about working with children, encouraging them to develop a genuine love of learning and helping each child to achieve their full potential. There are plenty of opportunities for parents to meet with their chld's teacher including regular Parents' Consultation Evenings each term.

Marion Stevens

Headteacher

Marion Stevens is very proud to be the Headteacher at this amazing school. She has been part of St John's School and its community for many years and now leads the St John's family. With passion and drive, Marion nurtures all of its members and ensures everyone is given the opportunity to flourish.

Sophie Ireland

SENDCo

Sophie is our lovely SENDCo. She works one day a week, often supporting parents, working with children and working alongside staff to ensure that all children access the best education.

Corinne Collins

Teacher

Corinne has many years' teaching experience in a variety of different schools. She brings that experience to our youngest children as she teaches our Rabbit Class children. She has a keen interest in early reading, supporting children and parents throughout their first year of school.

Georgie Cook

Teacher

Georgie Cook is our enthusiastic teacher in Fox Class, our year one learners. She feels it is a privilege to educate children in their early years. She enjoys using her years of experience to make learning fun.

Charlie Trussler

Charlie is our year two teacher in Badger Class. She has some exciting ideas as a result of an interesting start to her career teaching in the Bahamas. Look out for a badger family in her class!

Philippa Shaw

Cover teacher

Philippa has a long history of teaching at St John's School over many years and that wisdom is now being spread between classes now that Philippa is our cover teacher.

Hannah Wills

Forest School Leader

Hannah has a long history with the school both as an ex-parent and as our Forest School leader. She leads the children with her love, knowledge and enthusiasm of the natural environment, enhancing the children’s learning and development. When not working for St John’s School, Hannah also runs her own business - Wishanger Wild School in Churt.

Rebecca is the newest member of our team, working as teaching assistant in year one, Fox class.

Linda Healey

Linda is another HLTA based in Reception, Rabbit class. With her kind & caring nature, children are fond of her. She can be seen in all weathers, making sure Rabbit class have the very best learning experience.

Lisa Margretts

Teaching Assistant

Lisa uses every minute to support the children in both Fox class and Badger class, taking booster learning groups throughout the day. Lisa is a real asset, often coming up with great ideas to move the school forward.

Tracy Richardson

Teaching Assistant

Tracy has a long history with the school as a parent and has now become a valuable member of our team supporting children in class as a Learning Support Assistant. Her caring and observant nature ensures all children are well nurtured.

Sue Baker

School Business Manager

Sue joined us in April 2024 and has many years’ experience working in small schools. She ensures Surrey CC funding and local income is spent appropriately, and supports in all matters of Safeguarding, Staffing and Premises/H&S.

Janice Batchelor

School Secretary

Janice is our Secretary & undoubtedly the ‘face’ of St John’s with a lovely welcoming smile & fabulous ‘can do’ attitude. As first point of contact, she coordinates everything from school applications to patching up cuts & bruises, and everything else in between.

Emma is one of our wonderful Midday Supervisors, out in all weathers, encouraging great collaborative playtime games, and with her cheeerful, positive disposition, makes sure lunchtimes are great fun.

IT Technician

William is our IT expert spending time in school updating devices & ensuring that e-safety is a priority. Recently he has been working on our emails to ensure communication is as smooth as possible.
