Working Collaboratively

Links with other schools

The school journey through to secondary schools

St John's is a feeder school to Waverley Abbey Junior School where the majority of our children move on to, and a feeder school to South Farnham School.  After junior school, children usually go to either Weydon or Woolmer Hill.  St John's works particularly closely with Waverley Abbey School, which holds a very similar ethos.

Working collaboratively with other local schools ensures that schools support one another, share good practice and ideas. Headteachers and teachers work together to provide the best possible education for our pupils.

St Johns is a member of the Haslemere TEAM (TEAM = 'Together Everyone Achieves More') Confederation.

The confederation consists of:

  • Beacon Hill Community School
  • Grayswood CofE Primary School
  • Shottermill Infant School
  • Shottermill Junior School
  • St Bartholomew's CofE Primary School
  • St Mary's CofE Primary School
  • Woolmer Hill Technology College

We also work collaboratively with some local small church infant schools:

  • All Saints CofE Infant School
  • Grayswood CofE Primary School
  • Puttenham CofE Infant School
  • St Mary's CofE Infant School

We meet regularly with Waverley Abbey CofE Junior School which is the main junior school that our children transfer to at the end of KS1, and the staff of the other feeder schools. Headteachers and teachers meet to ensure that the transition from KS1 to KS2 is successful.

Our Reception teacher also meets with all nursery teachers locally to make sure all information is transferred and to get more of a picture of the children coming to join St Johns School.

We are also part of the South Farnham Teaching School Alliance.

Links in our community

The school has always enjoyed positive links within the community through Christmas and Summer Fayres, carol singing to the local elderly, support from local businesses and of course, all our links within the parish of St John’s.
